Get low, gangsta playa...

OK, I seriously have no clue if this posts' title makes any sense. I just had to share this video. It's hilarious! Or should I say it's "off the hook"?....No seriously, is that what you say? LOL!

Pink & Sympathy

I have to 2 cards to share with you today.

The first one is for my daughter's 13th birthday this Saturday. I used the Jammybella stamp (same as on her invitations). I cuttlebugged 2 layers, one with "Spots & Dots", the other with "Happy Birthday". Then I colored a flower from Stampin Up!s On Board Blossoms & Basics with a dauber dipped into Pink Passion. After it dried I punched a hole in the center with the Crop-a-dile, tied a knot in the center of the ribbon and pulled both ends thru the hole.

This next one is for Aunt Brenda. She lost her father on Sunday, her husband on Monday. The only stamps used were from Flourishes new set, "Flourished Words". The paper is Basic Grey "Infuse" which I also purchased from Flourishes. I used 2 sheets of it, trimming around the flowers of one and adhering it on top of the other. The ribbon is chocolate chip satin ribbon from Stampin Up!

Uncle Tony

Uncle Tony passed away last night (Monday) around 8:05 pm. He passed in his sleep. Bruno had called Aunt Brenda yesterday to check on him, but she wasn't home. Apparently she was at the funeral home making arrangements for her Father who passed away on Sunday. This has to be more pain and heart-break than even someone of deep faith can bear. My heart really goes out to her.

We also found out that Bruno's Great-Uncle passed away. Apparently there was a rosary for him yesterday. Would've been nice to know BEFORE it took place.

There is no info on funeral arrangements for anyone at this time.

Time to make a mess?

Well what else do you do in a nice clean craft area? Here are the cards I made over the weekend.

This was for Beate's weekend sketch challenge: WSC31
I used my new set "Always", colors used were real red, soft sky, & bayou blue.

Playing with another new set, "Happy Heart Day". Colors used were real red, sage shadow, & apricol appeal.

This is for the SCS new technique challenge to make a Pixie Pocket.

Room to Play!!!

I did it! I cleaned up my craft corner!
My cutting station:

Stamping tables: the one on the left is for DD, the one on the right is mine & has all the stuff I use all the time: stamp cleaning pad, markers, stazon pads, adhesives, bone folder, cutting mat w/grid, & scrap paper for protecting table from ink & jotting down card recipes.

This is how I'm organizing my paper. Sorted by Color Family into wilsonjones view-tab sorters (3/family). The red bag in the front is for trash.

It's a Jammy Party!!!

I finally finished the invitations for DD's 13th birthday party! Don't you just love them? As much as I'd love to take credit for the design, I must admit I was completely inspired by this card done by DisneyDoll over at Splitcoast Stampers.

I went to the local scrapbook store and picked up all the paper, metal-rimmed tags, and the number stamps which are by Gel-a-tins.

The fab gal is "Jammybella" from Stamping Bella.

Look what they have!

I walked into Kohl's yesterday and look what they have! Isn't he adorable! I didn't bring him home, but I sure do want him! I feel like my 7 yr old watching commercials & yelling "I want that!"

And yes, I do realize this is like my 4th or 5th Horton post, but to know him is to love him!

Cards!!!

Here are the 2 cards I made today. Yes, in spite of that mess of a craft area I posted earlier today!

This one is for the Faux Silk Technique over at Splitcoast Stampers

It pretty simple, but the colors ran more than I'd like. I did actually like the way the colors looked on the cardstock I placed underneath. It had a wonderful watercolor effect. I guess I need to explore that a bit further.

This one is for the Sketch Challenge at Splitcoast. I made this for a friend whose wife just had a baby.

When my DH started flying the B-52 about 18 yrs ago, Mark was his first Aircraft Commander. Which is pretty incredible since he was new to the aircraft. He came from another aircraft and was in training with my DH.

So anyway, he FINALLY got married and he and his wonderful wife, Gina, welcomed their 1st baby, a girl last night.

NOT for the faint of heart (or those remotely Type A)

Consider yourselves warned. This is not pretty. It's my craft area.

Exhibit A:

Exhibit B:

Exhibit C:

Believe it or not, I actually managed to make a couple cards in that mess today! I'll post those in a bit.

I only hope you're not too traumatized by these images.

Back to life....

Well the kids are back to school this morning. Man is it quiet!

Now that the Holidays are behind us and things are getting back to normal, I'm planning on getting back to crafting soon. First I need to find the top of my craft tables. Yes, that's tables with an "s"! It's pretty scary up there right now.

My DD (she's 7) was up there "creating" one day last week. She came down to show me her latest card creation when I noticed the Ticket Card Punched corners. I asked her if it was a scrap that was already like that or if she did the corners. Well she did them. Seems that punch was on top of the table all along. I've been looking for that thing for weeks! WHO KNEW?!?

So yep, it's pretty scary up there! Wish me luck!

Latest on Uncle Tony

We saw him at the hospital yesterday. Despite being a bit loopy from the major pain meds - Oxycontin and Percocet - he looked pretty good. He'll be released today to go home. Aunt Brenda is looking into Home Hospice, but the doctor's said all that does is take your money. That if there's anything they need, to call him and he'll take care of it. Brenda does still work and they don't have children. So any home care may come down to how mobile Tony is. The doctors still want to start chemo next week.

Thank you for your continued prayers.

Today's info: the cancer has spread to his brain as well. He is to go home tomorrow (01/05).

Prayer Request

Yesterday we got an e-mail from DH's Aunt Brenda. Apparently his Uncle Tony has not been feeling well. She took him in for several tests and things are not good at all. He has Stage IV Lung Cancer which has spread to his liver and his spine. Doctors were hoping to start chemotherapy as early as today. He smoked for about 41 years but quit last year. Tony is about 62. He and Brenda never had children. We are planning to see him at the hospital this afternoon.

Your prayers are greatly appreciated.
